What Happens Next?
After you submit your application, you will never be left wondering what comes next. I personally review every application and communicate with you directly by email.
1. We Review Your Application we carefully read every answer to learn about your household, lifestyle, experience, and the kind of Ragdoll relationship you hope to build. This helps us consider temperament, energy level, and whether a particular kitten may feel at home with your family. We strive to match the right kitten with the right home and our track record in pairings has proven very successful over the years.
2. You Receive a Welcome Email After we review your application, we will contact you directly by email. If a current kitten appears to be a thoughtful match, we will share clear information and answer any questions that you may have for us.
3. You May Receive an Official Invitation to Adopt Email Approved applicants will receive an Official Invitation to Adopt Email with same day photographs, videos, pricing, fully detailed kitten personality summary & temperament/energy level assessment, and clear next steps. We provide ALOT of detailed information about each kitten so that you may make the most informed choice! For a currently available kitten, the invitation to adopt remains open for 48 hours.
4. Your Adoption Is Finalized If you decide to move forward, this is where things get exciting! You will be given information to send payment and electronically sign your kitten's Contract. Once those two steps are completed, you have officially adopted your Moonseed Kitten.! I will then provide preparation resources and coordinate pickup or transportation with you by email. It is a step by step process which you are guided through, so there is no unnecessary uncertainty or worry.

How much does a Moonseed Ragdoll kitten cost?
Prices can vary by kitten, so the amount shown on each kitten’s individual page is the current price. It includes veterinary care, spay or neuter, age-appropriate vaccinations, deworming, microchip, written health guarantees, medical records, 30 days of Trupanion coverage, and the care resources we provide to every Moonseed family.
How much does a Moonseed Ragdoll kitten cost?
Yes, they really are. Our kittens grow up inside our home with daily handling, affection, and normal family activity. Our household is lively with children, and multiple adults, and our dog. They become very familiar and boarder-line clingy in a velcro cat kind of way with people. They are very accustomed to household sounds, and being part of everyday life. Our grandkids often come over to play ages 2, 4, and 9 years old. My young daughter is a huge part of our cattery and kitten socialization. You can see videos of our home cattery on instagram and throughout our website! All of the videos and photos we post of our kittens and cats are taken from within our home.
What health testing is completed on the parent cats?
Our breeding cats are DNA tested through Optimal Selection Advanced and confirmed negative for the known Ragdoll variants associated with HCM and PKD. The panel also screens for more than 50 additional inherited health conditions and traits. We use FeLV/FIV screening, respiratory and gastrointestinal PCR testing, and regular veterinary care as part of our health program.
What veterinary care does each kitten receive?
Every kitten receives a veterinary examination, age-appropriate FVRCP vaccinations, deworming, preventive treatment, and a rabies vaccine when age allows. Kittens are also spayed or neutered and microchipped with a Nanochip before going home. You’ll receive medical records showing the care your kitten has received.
What health guarantees come with a Moonseed kitten?
Every Moonseed kitten goes home with protection that includes our 5-Year Genetic Guarantee, 3-Year HCM Guarantee, 2-Year FIP Guarantee, and Moonseed Wellness Guarantee. The complete terms are included in the adoption contract so you can review exactly what is covered.
How do payment and reservations work for an available kitten?
For kittens that are currently listed on our website as "available" and are "ready to go home now", we do not take deposits. These kittens have reached 14 weeks old and are ready to leave the cattery to their furrever homes. Payment must be cleared, and Kitten contract signed before pick up or transport arraignments are scheduled.
Once you’re approved and invited to adopt a particular kitten, that kitten will be marked Adoption Pending for 48 hours. Full payment is due during that time. After payment, we’ll send the electronic adoption contract, and begin arranging your kitten’s go-home plans.
For younger kittens that are found on our website with the option to "reserve", you may place a $1200 deposit to reserve your selected kitten. A deposit agreement form will be sent for your electronic signature. The deposit is then subtracted from the total purchase price of your kitten.
Deposits are non-refundable. Deposits can instead be transferred to another kitten in another litter for up to one year before they expire. After one year, if a kitten is not selected, the deposit is forfeit.
The remainder of the purchase price of your kitten will be due once the kitten turns 12 weeks old
Kittens are allowed to leave the cattery after they are spayed and neutered, and 14 weeks of age.
Is local pickup or nationwide kitten delivery available?
Yes. Families may pick up their kitten in Columbus, Ohio, meet us at John Glenn Columbus International Airport, or arrange nationwide delivery with a professional flight nanny through PetJetPals. We’ll help you decide which option makes the most sense for your family and location.
Why is the adoption process handled through email?
Moonseed’s adoption process is handled online and through email so every important detail is documented and easy for both of us to find later. Applications, approvals, payment information, contracts, kitten updates, and travel plans are all kept together in writing.
Truthmode: caring for kittens and cats is not easy work. I am also a full time mother and graduate student. I simply do not have the time nor the free hands available to sit still for phone calls. I also rely very heavily on email for my own organization and documentation for every adoption.
We understand if this will not work for you, but for the past 6 years it has worked for numerous families and we have received a lot of praise and positive feedback about how well we communicate throughout the adoption process. We also make it very clear from the beginning that this is our sole form of communication so that you can make the most informed choice about working with us. We believe in full transparency!
Do you allow cattery visits, or can we meet a kitten before adopting?
Moonseed is a home-based cattery rather than a public storefront, so we do not offer cattery tours or pre-adoption meet-and-greets. Young kittens are still developing their immune systems and may not have completed all of their vaccinations. Germs from other animals can travel on hands, shoes, or clothing without anyone realizing it, so limiting outside visitors helps us protect every kitten and adult cat in our home. It also protects the privacy and security of our family. Families choosing local pickup will meet their kitten at the scheduled go-home appointment at a private and easily accessible in location in Columbus, Ohio. We provide the address with detailed instructions on how to find us after kitten purchase.
Do you offer phone or video calls?
We understand why families ask, especially because live video is sometimes recommended as a way to avoid pet scams. Moonseed’s application and adoption process is 100% online and email-based, so we do not schedule phone or video calls.
Keeping communication in writing means that application decisions, payment information, contracts, health information, updates, and travel arrangements are clearly documented and easy for everyone to reference.
Instead, we provide transparency with current photos and videos of our kittens, written contracts, veterinary records, and several independent ways to verify Moonseed Ragdolls, including our official TICA breeder page and public Google and Facebook reviews. These provide a much fuller record of our cattery than relying on a single phone or video call.
