The Moonseed Adoption Process

For several years, Moonseed Ragdolls has successfully guided families across the United States through a secure, organized, and fully online adoption process. We intentionally communicate exclusively by email because it provides the safest and most organized experience for both our families and our cattery. Every question, contract, receipt, update, and important detail is documented in one place, creating a complete record that can be referenced at any time.

As a full-time breeder, graduate student, and mother, my priority is providing exceptional care to both my family and my cats. Rather than dividing my attention between phone calls, I dedicate that time to providing thoughtful, detailed email communication. Every Moonseed family receives comprehensive guides, supply lists, care information, and step-by-step instructions they can save and revisit long after their kitten comes home.

Adopt Your Moonseed Ragdoll Kitten in Three Simple Steps

​Step 1 – Apply

Complete our online Moonseed Ragdoll kitten application so I can learn more about you, your household, your lifestyle, and the home you are preparing for your kitten. The application also provides additional detailed information about our Ragdoll kitten adoption process, policies, and expectations, allowing both you and Moonseed Ragdolls to determine whether we are a good fit to work together.

Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, and you will generally receive a response within 48 hours. Your application also provides answers to many common questions about adopting a Ragdoll kitten from Moonseed Ragdolls.

Please understand that submitting an application does not reserve a kitten or place a kitten on hold. An adoption opportunity begins only after your application has been approved, and you receive an Official Invitation to Adopt Email.

Step 2 – Receive Your Official Invitation to Adopt

​

If your application is approved, you will receive an Official Invitation to Adopt by email. This invitation will include the kitten's detailed information including multiple same-day photographs and videos of the kitten for you to review.

We provide everything necessary in our Invitation to Adopt Email so that families can be able to make an informed decision on the kitten that they are considering to adopt.

Once your Official Invitation to Adopt Email is sent, you will have 48 hours to accept the invitation.

If you choose to accept your invitation, the full purchase price of the kitten must be received within the 48-hour acceptance period.

If full payment is not received within the 48-hour period, the invitation to adopt will expire.  This process has worked well for us over the last several years and is the tried and true way that keeps our adoption process fair and prevents a kitten from being held indefinitely without a completed adoption commitment.

Once the full purchase price has been received, we will send your Kitten Adoption Contract for electronic signature.

Step 3 – Welcome Home Your Kitten

​

Once your kitten's full payment and signed adoption contract have both been received, your kitten will officially be declared ADOPTED, and we will begin preparing for their transition home.

At this stage, you will receive preparation materials by email, including your payment receipt, signed Kitten Adoption Contract for your records, Moonseed Ragdolls Kitten & Cat Care Guide, kitten supply list with clickable links, go-home preparation information, and additional educational and kitten-care PDFs.

These resources are designed to give you the information you need to prepare your home, understand your kitten's care and transition, and feel confident bringing your new Ragdoll kitten home. Because everything is provided electronically, you can save these materials and refer back to them whenever needed.

Depending on your location, you may arrange to pick up your kitten in Columbus, Ohio, meet at John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH), or arrange professional in-cabin transportation through an experienced pet flight nanny, we recommend PetJetPals.  ​

Transportation arrangements are planned individually with each family after the adoption has been finalized.​
