Adoption Process:

Adoption process for retired breeding cats:

Check website here for breeding cats that are available for adoption and fill out the adoption form.

Do not contact me until you fill out the adoption form. I need to know who I am speaking to.

There has been a great interest in retired breeding cats.

I will not work on first come first serve basis.

I will match the best home to each one of my adult cats.

My cats are not "cheap" and if you are bargain searching, please just do not apply.

It is my sincerest intent that these cats are taken into homes for the remainder of their lives, where they will receive

a much higher quality of life as pet cats.

Our breeding cats are great examples of the breed, they come with their health and genetic testing results,

fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, fully socialized, microchipped, and each cat is under the age of three years old.

So, they are still not even yet fully mature (as Ragdolls grow until 4 years of age)

These cats can live to 17 years of age. This is a very long term commitment.

Please only apply if you sincerely believe you can offer the best possible life to one of my cats.

Adoption Process for Kittens:

Kittens go home with 2-3 FVRCP vaccines, Rabies vaccine & Certificate,

microchip w/ free registery for new owner, 30 days Trupanion insurance for free,

dewormed, and with flea and tick preventative.

I do my best to match kittens to adopters based upon which homes will be best suited for them.

I keep in mind each kitten's unique personality traits and the Adopter's desires and preferences.

It is my intent to align the purrfect kitten with its ideal family.

It is very important to place a kitten into a home where it will shine.

For instance an outgoing and confident kitten with a gentle disposition and curious nature would do better

in a home with children VS a reserved kitten that prefers the company of one person...

So far, this method has worked out well for adopters and their kittens.

My breeding goals center around health and temperament.

I personally prefer the mellow, easy going, passive, floppy, playfully gentle, sweet, playful, and affectionate style of Ragdoll.

I look to Anne Baker's original franchised Ragdoll breed standard regarding "temperament" & I strive to breed that forward.

I personally am not a fan of the "busy" or "active" or "sassy" or "spunky" nor "hyper attached" Ragdoll temperaments.

I do not breed these traits forward.

As I have found out in my research and experience,

the ideal Ragdoll temperament is not universal nor easily accessible in the Ragdoll breeding pool worldwide.

It takes an effort and a dedication to breed for it, and to preserve it.

I place the importance of health and temperament above all else.

Awaiting Your Kitten

After the kitten's adoption contract is signed, I will send you an informational PDF

The PDF is FULL of information that will help you prepare

before your kitten arrives. This includes:

A kitten supply list with click links (food, toys, litter, everything)

A  "Go home note", this is a kitten care PDF full of information on Ragdoll care

A reminder to schedule your required veterinary exam (within 72 hours post adoption)

A reference sheet with several resources and cool cat/kitten care links

You can also visit the  Supplies Page  to help order supplies in advance of kitten's arrival.

Note to adopters: The kitten care PDF will have the most up to date info about what your kitten is eating, etc with click links

so that you can order several weeks in advance!

Because I have taken a lot of time to prepare my Moonseed documents for my adopters,

I will only send these out after contract signing. Which does occur weeks in advance of your kittens

going home.

If you do not yet have an established veterinarian, I recommend finding one well before your kitten

comes home.  Vets tend to book out 3-4 weeks in advance for wellness visits these days.

I do my best to time the adoption of the kittens around 7-10 weeks of age so that

owners have several weeks to prepare and schedule wellness exams.

You will have 72 hours upon receiving your kitten to have them examined

by a licensed DVM (VMD in some states), or else the health guarantee for your kitten will be void.

I really appreciate the relationships that I have with my adopting families.

I appreciate that my adopters are compassionate and respectful of my role as a breeder,

and understanding that I have a family, and a life outside to breeding to tend to.

I am not often in front of a computer nor do I often carry my phone with me these days.

I answer non-urgent emails when I can & typically only answer emails from adopters or

those on my waitlist. I do not have a secretary nor staff to help me keep up with communication.

I am first and foremost a caretaker to my family and animals. Most communications go out in group emails.
